Long Biography
                    
                        Phil has been instrumental in the development of technology, media and telecoms services in the UK for
                        more than 30 years.
                    
                    
                        He founded an electronic media business after graduating with a degree in Computing Science from Imperial College, and worked for
                        the UK's national news agency The Press
                        Association a few years later where he helped build their New Media division and digital
                        strategy.
                    
                    
                        From there he joined Internet pioneer Demon Internet as
                        CTO, floating that business as telecommunications operator THUS in 1999 where as
                        COO and one of the youngest FTSE executives in history he saw it grow into a FTSE 100 company.
                    
                    
                        In 2008 he joined the executive at Cable&Wireless Worldwide and
                        managed their subsequent IPO process.
                    
                    
                        Since 2010 Phil has been working with private equity and Government backed companies as an advisor, CEO, Non-Executive
                        Director and Chair across a broad portfolio of technology-enabled companies, and has completed
                        numerous private equity transactions.
                    
                    
                        He currently serves on the boards of Ascent and Sliide as a Non-Executive Director, and is Chair of
                        Zen Internet,
                        Miss Group,
                        Velos IOT,
                        Snigel
                        and Celerity,
                        and is also a technical advisor to the UK Government's Smart Metering Programme.
                        
                    
                        He has previously served on the boards of Comic Relief Ltd,
                        The Data Communications Company and
                        JT Global,
                        regularly lectured at Cambridge
                            University on technology topics, and continues to speak at both private and public events.
